Is this the World Cup final or Asian Game final? It’s world Cup final. But now it become as an Asia Cup final, because two Asian Nations will play for becomes the world champions. This is the first time that two Asian team are playing in the final.
Srilanka or india will be able to become the world champions in second time. Both the teams have played twice in the finals and win once.
So I will go to the match. This is a 50-50 match. It’s Very difficult to tell who will be winning it. Both teams have equal chance and the team who will do well in tomorrow will win it.
When we look at the past records we can see that Indians didn’t do well in the finals. Most of the times, they can’t win the crucial matches against the srilanka. As an example- 1996 World Cup Semifinals, 2007 World Cup first round(must win game for india), Asia cup finals in recent time. So that will be a physiological advantage for srilanka. Then they have lot of pressure because they are playing in front of their fans. Not like other countries Indians fans always need something. They need 100%. Otherwise they will silent and this will create pressure for them. You can see it in semifinals, in last overs when afridi and misbha bats the crowds get silent. This is not good for india. But I must say in recent past indias were able to win some finals. They have won last asia cup final against srilnka in Srilanka and they done well in the last two knockout matches in front of their fans. So the past is past and we can’t make decisions according to the past.
Pitch will not give any advantage to any side because both are sub-continent teams. Actually this is the match between srilankan ballers and indian batsmen’s. Srilanka has a good balling attack while india has the good batting attack. If india bats first and srilanka ballers can restrict india for 250 or 275 srilanka batsmen have good chance. Because indian balling attack is not so good.
If srilankan bats first and their batsmen can score 300 they have a very good chance. If indian ballers can restrict srilankan batsmen under 250, indians have a good chance.
Srilankan middle order is not good, but their top order is in fire. Three of their top order batsmen are in the top five batsmen list in this world cup. So indian baller have to take two or three early wickets. Then pressure will build for srilanka.
But indian baller have to ball well. Zahir khan continues his good form in this world cup and he needs to do so. But Indians will expect good performance from Munaf and Yuvraj. If they can cut off runs they have a good chance.
In srilanka hand they have to get Shewag’s wicket quickly. If he gets going india will win it. Sachine is not a problem, because he is not a match winner. In the past india were unable to win, when sachine scored century. So he is not a key factor. But shewag , yuvraj and Dhoni are the key batsmen. If srilankan ballers can get those wickets for few runs they have a chance.
If india bats first and srilanka can get early wickets srilanka have a chance. Because india know that they have a poor balling attack. So pressure will create. If srilanka will unable to get wickets and india gets going, srilankas will feel pressure because they know their middle order is not playing well.
In the other hand if srilanka bats and score more than 300, and they can get early indian wicket pressure will create for india and if Indians can restrict srilanka below 250 srilankans will feel the pressure because they know Indians have a good batting line up. But in this situation (Srilanka bats first,), we have a good battle between bat and ball. Because balling is srilankan strength and batting is indian strength, So both will fight for win the world cup in the second half. If ball wins srilanka will take the cup and else India will take it.
